Premier League leaders Chelsea on Sunday,
February 12, 2017 failed to go 12 points
clear at the top of the standings after being
forced to a 1 - 1 draw by Burnley in a tough
duel at the Turf Moor.
However, the hosts would have their
goalkeeper Tom Heaton to thank as his
numerous saves denied the Blues from
getting the three maximum points.
Chelsea started the game impressivly
knowing fully well that a victory would be of
great help to their title ambition, and Pedro
Rodriguez opened scoring when he fired in a
cross from Costa in the 7th minute.
The hosts restored parity in the 27th minute
from a sublime strike from a freekick by
Robert Brandy where Chelsea goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois had no chance.
Eden Hazard would have put the Blues ahead
prior to the end of the first half, but he blew
up the chance which made many Chelsea
faithfuls livid.
The hosts then gained lots of momentum in
the second half, but they could not find the
winning goal as the tie ended 1-1.
