A 26-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of her newborn baby who was stabbed to
death and dumped in a waste bin.

The police has arrested a 26-year-old mother in Burnley, Lancashire, England for stabbing her
newborn baby girl to death and dumping the corpse in a waste bin.
Punch reports that the remains of the baby was found in the kitchen waste bin and following post-
mortem investigation, was revealed to have died from multiple stab wounds.
The woman identified as Rachel Tunstill, a graduate of the University of Lancashire, was arrested
and has been charged with the murder of her child. The accused appeared in court looking depressed while weeping iuncontrollably.
According to the police, Tunstill did not enter a plea and was remanded into in jail with trial date set
for June 7.
After being arrested earlier, a 30-year-old man assumed to be the father of the child, was reportedly
released without charge.
The police said that they were “completely satisfied” that he had no involvement in the death of the
newborn baby.
